Dear story lover,
Last night Minnesota got its first snow of the season. It was only a dusting, but it put me in the mood for making a few calls to friends and family and writing my occasional newsletter. If we'd made it through November up here in the North Country without snow, it would have been the first snow-less November for MN in history. History! Mind boggling. Without the weather, how can Minnesotans launch over-the-fence conversations?

We can always talk about books once we get the weather out of the way. Minnesotans are big readers.. Book clubs are very popular here, and I've occasionally been invited to a meeting for a discussion of one of my books when it's been a club's monthly selection. I don't know why they'd want to stifle any give-and-take by inviting a book's author to their discussion. "Minnesota nice" is not a myth. But I'm always game for any kind of discussion.

Holidays bring out the sales, and my novella collection, THE SHARING SPOON, is available through the end of November for $.99 in e-format wherever digital books are sold. Three stories, three settings, two Holidays--all just as romantic as a warm fire on a cold winter's night. With or without snow.

Look for A VIEW OF THE RIVER in December, on sale for $.99 in e-format from the 16th through the 31, bringing the curtain down on 2023 .The story is set in an old mansion in Little Falls, MN, and it comes with lots and lots of snow. The Eagle family moved to Minnesota in 1991, the year of the infamous Halloween Blizzard. It's the one Minnesotans tell their grandchildren about. But I've always enjoyed stories about a diverse group of people getting stuck together during a killer snow storm. Mine is a story of traditions, family, community, history and the ghosts of holidays past...well, let's say family-> friction-> friends and lovers.

May the holiday season bring love and peace to all of the above.
Kathleen Eagle.
